Can I just boast on the state of Tennessee for a minute?
I LOVE TEIS. Tennessee Early Intervention System. It is a program for families with children with disabilities or developmental delays, from birth up to age 3. They have been a goldmine for us, as far as Abby is concerned. When she was smaller, they would send someone out to our house once a month to work with her on different developmental milestones, and now that she's a little bigger (and a little more delayed), they totally cover her to have one on one therapy 3 days a week (in speech, occupational and physical), as well as a speech/occupational group with other little kiddo's on Fridays! The way it works is that they first go through our insurance, but anything after that, they COMPLETELY cover.
She even has little "orthotics" which are basically foot braces that give her more stability and strength in her feet, and a walker, which she's not super crazy about yet, but just using it a little a day, I can totally see a difference. She's grown out of the first orthotics, and now they are ordering her some bigger, a little different, foot braces.
NOW, they are offering me mileage reimbursement as well! Which is AWESOME. Driving to Franklin 4 days a week is no walk in the park, but of course, as a mom, you do everything you can for your babies. So this will help SO much!
Anyway... I just had to share. :)
