This might look like a safe, unsuspecting back yard.
But yesterday I sent the two big girls outside to play and after 10 minutes Emily came running in the house ripping her clothes off, tearing at her skin screaming that she was itching.
In that 10 minutes, this poor kid got 28 mosquito bites!!! Ashley doesn't even have 1. She said that they were swarming around Emily and she told her to run into the house! Poor baby.
The only way to help her was to bathe her to get that "outside itch" off (you remember that itchy feeling from playing outside on hot summer days as a kid?) and then put a dab of Campho-phenique on each one and then a bandaid so she wouldn't scratch. We took all the bandaids off last night before bed so they could "breathe" and have only added them back on today as needed (the ones she just can't stop scratching).
Guess I need to bathe my kids in bug spray before they go outside from now on!
Since she did get so many of them you might consider (if you have not already) letting her Pediatrician know about this just in case they want you to keep an eye out for anything.
ReplyDeleteThey will most likely be okay but that is A LOT at one time. Poor little thing!

Sheila,
ReplyDeleteI actually thought of that, maybe thats confirmation! :) They're healing up pretty good but maybe I'll give 'em a call just in case...
