"Traveling circus show of cuteness and snot"
If we're friends, will you please read this?
If there is anyone in your life whom you'd consider to be a large family, they probably want you to know this too.
Because I could not agree with this woman more! Every. Single. Point. Taking special note of points #1, 5 and 10. (Although I think #9 is my favorite.)
And to the lady in our church parking lot who literally rolled down her passenger side window so she could hang out of it and yell at me "ARE THOSE ALL YOUR KIDS": Really??? Really???...................................... Really???
C'mon people.

O.k. I love this, especially for those days when I go shopping with 6 kids in tow. We usually joke to see if we can make it through a store without one of those comments. I have been thinking hard for years to have a witty and even funny response to these comments, but have yet to find the perfect one. My friend once told someone that she just can't keep her hands off her husband. I loved that one. Talk about creating awkwardness! The family who sells their wares in Leiper's Fork told folks when wife was pregnant with #6 that she was expecting their middle child. I loved that one too. Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteLOL I love it! A friend of mine said that she tells people "If you think my hands are full, you should see my heart"... which is SO cute but I wish I could say I was thinking such Christlike thoughts in that moment!!!! lol
ReplyDeleteAmy, I am right there with you...I can honestly say, my comebacks and thoughts are NOT Chrsitlike anymore. It's annoying and people are just so RUDE. People comment how "you know you can get that fixed" or the ever present "you know what causes that, don't you"....my poor kids get so embarrased. I have teenagers now, they KNOW what is being asked and said...it's crazy, so now, I turn it around and embarrass the other person back. I say things like "Yep, I know what causes it, and obviously we like it...a LOT!" or "why fix it, it doesn't seem to be broken". That usually gets them to be put in a place of shock, at least long enough for my crew to laugh and move away :)
