Carseat craziness

So this is random but I was looking up how the heck to hook the top tether of the Latch on Mabry's car seat TO the car and what kept coming up was how people's #1 mis-use of the Latch system was buckling latch and a seat belt. Which is apparently way wrong. Maybe you guys already knew this but I didn't.

And after all that reading, I never did figure out how to latch the top tether. I think its a Suburban problem and not a carseat and/or Amy's brain problem. I can install some bar I guess. It is free which is cool. And good to know.

I had had it attached to this little bar... thingy... down below the seat but it clearly isn't what its supposed to latch to because its really thin and flimsy. That can't be right.

I would just give up and switch to using a seat belt but the girls keep accidentally unbuckling her carseat when they're trying to unbuckle themselves. Ugh. Also, I guess I need to put the back back on Emily's booster, I guess she needs to be 4 AND 40 lbs. Didn't know this either. (I blame Jodie, she told me it was okay. :)) AND I've definitely decided to keep Mabry facing the back til she's 2. Its not law but its recommended by the AAP, its 5 times safer, and she's got other kids to look at so what does she care. :)

So I'm not sure what I'll do about the tether on Mabry's seat. Can't have the girls unbuckling her seat. Maybe I'll keep the big girls in the back and put Micah and Abby on either side of Mabry because their seats buckle in with the 5 point harness. But then I have the problem of little hands and feet reaching over whacking Mabry. Not sure which is more dangerous... :)

PS.
I thought I remembered NPT(PBS for Nashville) saying that they had car seat safety info on their website, but I couldn't find it. I thought this site was pretty good though:
