Photography

In my heart I'm an amazing photographer.

Some women want to be great chefs. Some want to have a green thumb. Some want to juggle work and family and do it all flawlessly. Me? I just wanna take some really cute pictures. Is that so much to ask? If I could have a million dollars (okay that's pushing it, a few hundred would do), I would buy myself a fancy dancy camera and take some photography classes. Of course, some of the money would have to cover a nanny so I could GO to the classes.

I don't have a good camera (I mean, its fine... but its just point and shoot). I don't have... well ANY skill. But you see I've got these incredibly cute children. And they are growing up right in front of my eyes. Sometimes after I give the kids a bath I will dry them off and just KNOW that they're bigger than after the last bath. It makes me really sad. *Deep sigh* You know how moms who really have it together get professional pictures of their babies at 3 months, 6 months, 9 months and 1 year? I wanna do that but take them myself. EVERY month. And the pictures actually turn out GOOD. I want to have something to show for how beautiful Ashley's eyelashes are when she's reading. And how Emily has dimples for just a few seconds when she gets that embarrassed smile. I can't capture the sideways glace and cock of Micah's eyebrow as he eloquently asks, "Ug?" There is only a short period after a bath when Abby's freshly dry hair falls soft and wispy over her shoulders. And I'll never know how to capture my baby's little arms tucked in and booty in the air as she sleeps soundly on her belly... without the annoying flash waking her up. *sigh again*

Oh well. In the mean time, I'll be faithful to capture every moment I can with what I have. And you just know that I've got some stinkin' cute kids over here that are growing by the minute. :)

  5. This post is so funny (& moving) especially after our conversation on Saturday! :)

Speaking of which, what a blessing to see you twice in three days and to finally meet your beautiful Mabry! And see the rest of the kids just as you described them. :)
